RAMP · Reducing Annual Medicare Penalties

Your Medicare clients need a Retirement Income Review. Here's the whole job.

You say one sentence at the end of the Medicare conversation. You send one email. A Retirement Income Specialist conducts the review — and if it leads to an annuity your client buys, you earn 20% of the street commission.

"Now we need to schedule your Retirement Income Review to make sure we've done everything reasonably possible to help you avoid unnecessary increases in your Medicare premiums in the future. Would daytime or evening work better for you?"

Don't soften it. Never "Would you be interested…?" or "Would you like…?" You are stating the next step in serving them. The only question you ask: daytime or evening?

What Agents Are Saying
We used the script the day you sent it — Al closed $200,000. Next Thursday we have a family with $600,000 and another with $200,000 coming in. My team is using it now. It works.

Results are not typical. Individual results will vary.

Joining Annuity.com has truly elevated how I support my clients and strengthened the impact I can make in their retirement journey.

What I'd tell a Medicare agent on the fence: the Medicare sales arena is changing rapidly. Carriers are reducing or removing commissions and renewals. You need to be a full-service agent. Annuities are the perfect complement to what you're already doing — and this organization will give you the tools to have those conversations successfully.

Three steps. That's the program.

1
Serve your Medicare client

Nothing changes about what you already do.

2
Schedule the Retirement Income Review

Make it part of the process. Use the script.

3
Send the warm introduction email

To your Specialist and your client, right after you schedule.

Your Retirement Income Specialist conducts the review — and handles any appropriate retirement-income work.

To: your Specialist + your client

[Specialist], I want to introduce you to [Client], a client of mine who is ready for a Retirement Income Review. [Client] prefers a [daytime/evening] appointment if possible.

[Client] — I trust [Specialist] and know you will be well taken care of. [Specialist] will handle the Retirement Income Review and help determine whether there is anything in your retirement-income strategy that deserves attention.

Two things. Only one of them is a hurdle.

Your life insurance license. You cannot be paid on annuity business without it, and we won't pretend otherwise.

Carrier appointments — handled just in time. You don't contract with sixty carriers before you begin. When a case is ready, you get appointed with the one carrier that case needs. Nothing to do up front.

What you don't need: annuity product knowledge. Case design skills. A single hour of sales training. You are not learning to sell annuities — you're adding one review to the service you already provide.

20% of street — paid when the client buys.

You are paid on the sale, not on the appointment. If the Retirement Income Review leads to an annuity your client purchases, you earn 20% of the street commission on it. If it doesn't, no one is paid — not you, not the Specialist.

What 20% means in dollars. About 70% of the annuity business written through Annuity.com is fixed indexed annuities (FIAs). The average FIA pays 5–7% in street commission, and our average FIA is about $150,000 — roughly $7,500 to $10,500 in street commission on an average case. Your 20% of that is about $1,500 to $2,100, paid when the client buys.

Illustration based on company averages. It is not a projection or guarantee of earnings; commission rates and case sizes vary by product, carrier and state.

That's exactly why you can offer the review as a genuine service. Nobody earns anything unless something turns out to be right for your client — so there's no reason to push, and your client has no reason to wonder.

When it does close, you didn't source the lead, buy it, design the case, or sit the closing appointment. If you later want more of the case, the Team Selling Pathway runs five stages, each worth another 20% of street, up to running the appointment yourself at 100%. Most Medicare agents stay at stage one. That's a legitimate place to stay.

The Retirement Income Specialist conducts the review, gathers the facts, makes any recommendation, and documents the suitability analysis behind it. Your part is the introduction — you are not recommending a product, which is why you don't need to be able to evaluate one.

The one rule that matters

Use the script outside any appointment governed by a Medicare Scope of Appointment. CMS prohibits marketing non-health products during MA/Part D sales appointments. Never promise to eliminate IRMAA or guarantee savings.

You don't have to wait for next year's AEP.

Every Medicare client you've already written is eligible for a Retirement Income Review today. Send this to your book this week.

Subject: An additional review for my Medicare clients

Hi [First Name],

I wanted to let you know about an additional service I'm making available to my Medicare clients.

Many people don't realize that decisions involving retirement income — such as IRA withdrawals, required minimum distributions, Social Security and other taxable income — can sometimes affect what they pay for Medicare in future years.

Because of that, I would like to schedule a complimentary Retirement Income Review for you with a Retirement Income Specialist I work with.

The purpose is simply to review your situation and make sure you have considered reasonable opportunities that may help you avoid unnecessary increases in your Medicare premiums in the future.

I'd like to get that scheduled for you. Would a daytime or evening appointment generally work better?

Warm regards,
[Your name]

Frequently asked questions.

Do I get paid for the appointment?
No. You're paid only if your client purchases an annuity following the Retirement Income Review — 20% of the street commission on that sale. There is no payment for setting the appointment, for making the introduction, or for the review itself. If nothing is appropriate for your client, nothing is sold and no one is paid.
Do I need carrier appointments?
Yes, but not before you start. Appointments are handled just in time — when a case is ready, you're appointed with the carrier that case needs. You won't spend your first weeks filling out contracting paperwork for sixty carriers you may never write.
Do I need a separate annuity license to participate in RAMP?
No separate “annuity license” exists in the U.S. If you hold an active Life Insurance license, you are already eligible to sell fixed annuities in most states. Many states issue a combined Life and Health license — agents with that combined license are already set.
What if I don’t have my Life Insurance license yet?
You can join RAMP and begin learning the process before your license is in hand. We've partnered with EXEL Solutions to offer a 50% discount on their state-approved pre-licensing course.
Do I have to test and get appointed with each annuity carrier individually?
Unlike Medicare carriers, most annuity carrier appointments do not require a separate exam per carrier. The process is primarily completed online and can often be done in minutes. Annuity.com facilitates the carrier appointment process on your behalf.
Is there CE training required before I can sell annuities?
Most states require a short Annuity Suitability training course — typically 4 to 8 hours, completed online at your own pace. This is a one-time state requirement and is significantly simpler than Medicare carrier-specific certification.
Can I get in trouble with CMS for discussing annuities with my Medicare clients?
Yes — if you do it in the wrong context. CMS strictly prohibits marketing non-health products during a Medicare Advantage or Part D sales appointment. RAMP is designed specifically to work within these rules — the Retirement Income Review is always its own appointment, scheduled outside any appointment governed by a Scope of Appointment.
How does commission sharing work?
You’re paid only when a client buys. On a sale that follows your Retirement Income Review, you earn 20% of the street commission. If you later want more of the case, the Team Selling Pathway runs five stages, each worth another 20% of street, up to running the appointment yourself at 100%.
What does 20% of street mean in dollars?
About 70% of the annuity business written through Annuity.com is fixed indexed annuities (FIAs). The average FIA pays 5–7% in street commission, and our average FIA is about $150,000 — roughly $7,500 to $10,500 in street commission on an average case. Your 20% of that is about $1,500 to $2,100, paid when the client buys. This is an illustration based on company averages, not a projection or guarantee of earnings; commission rates and case sizes vary by product, carrier and state.
What happens if an annuity isn’t the right fit for my client?
Every case at Annuity.com is evaluated under the NAIC Best Interest Standard before any product is recommended. If an annuity is not appropriate for a client, the case does not move forward and no product is presented.
Is Annuity.com an MLM?
No. Annuity.com is an Insurance Marketing Organization (IMO). There is no buy-in, no mandatory product purchase, and no pyramid structure. Agents earn commissions on client annuity cases.
Is RAMP available in my state?
RAMP is available to licensed agents across the United States. Specific carrier availability and CE requirements vary by state. Join a RAMP Intro Call to learn about your state’s specifics.

About RAMP and Annuity.com

RAMP (Reducing Annual Medicare Penalties) is an agent program offered by Annuity.com, Inc., an Insurance Marketing Organization (IMO) headquartered in Gilbert, Arizona. It is designed for licensed Medicare agents who hold a life insurance license and want to add a Retirement Income Review to the service they already provide their Medicare clients. A Retirement Income Specialist conducts the review; the agent earns 20% of the street commission when a client buys an annuity following it, and nothing when a client does not.

Annuity.com is differentiated from other IMOs by its comprehensive compensation structure: 100% street-level commission, a Stock Option Program for qualifying agents, annual production bonuses, and an Agency Builder override program. RAMP's compliance framework is built around CMS Medicare Marketing Guidelines: the Retirement Income Review is always scheduled outside any appointment governed by a Scope of Appointment.
